"A man of “immense wisdom” who was providing healthcare to the poor n needy" - Buhari To Late Ado Gwaram

On the late Ado Gwaram, the President described him as an extraordinary civil servant who “was at the forefront of many community service initiatives. He inspired countless young people. He had personal integrity which was unimpeachable and spoke truth to power. On account of these, he rightfully

enjoyed the respect and patronage of every administration, military and civilian in the old and new Kano State. May Allah repose his soul.”

According to report, President Muhammadu Buhari, in a show of the nation’s appreciation for services rendered, sent a delegation to Kano State on Friday to condole the families of two prominent citizens, Dr Datti Ahmed, a doctor, politician and religious leader and Ado Gwaram, a notably committed public servant who served the state two times as Secretary to the State Government, SSG.

In an earlier tribute to the late Datti Ahmed, the President described the doyen of private medical practice in Kano as a man of “immense wisdom” who was “at the forefront in providing healthcare to the poor and needy. His divine teachings and selfless contribution towards the welfare of society will not be forgotten. He will be remembered for his noble service to society,” said the President.

This was disclosed in a statement by Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, on Friday.

The delegation was received in Kano by the Secretary to the State Government, Usman Alhaji, who received the President’s letter of condolence to the government and people of Kano State.

On behalf of the Governor, who was away, the SSG thanked the President for identifying with the state in their moment of grief.

At Dr Datti’s residence, the delegation was received by a large number of scholars and contemporaries of the deceased, including Professor Ibrahim Umar, Sheikh Ibrahim Khaleel and Imam Dr Bashir Aliyu.

The son of the deceased, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed thanked the President on behalf of the family for sustaining a good relationship with their father for more than forty years.

Speaking through Aminu Babba Dan Agundi, Sarkin Dawaki Babba,the family of Ado Gwaram thanked the President for honouring them with the visit. They prayed for his good health and success as he nears the end of his presidency.

The delegation, which was led by the Minister of Defence, Maj-General Bashir Salihi Magashi (Rtd), included the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, the Minister of Water Resources, Engineer Sulaiman Adamu and the Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.
