Two People Arrested, Allegedly Tried To Steal Crashed Porsche Parts

Two people are in custody after they allegedly tried to steal parts of the Porsche that crashed killing Paul Walker and another man.
Authorities said they had arrested a teenager, while the second suspect agreed to turn himself in.

The alleged theft occurred as the Porsche Carrera GT was being towed from the accident scene shortly after the crash on Saturday night, Los Angeles County sheriff's officials said.

Jameson Witty, 18, who was arrested at his home in Los Angeles, was being held on $20,000 (£12,000) bail, the sheriff's office said in a statement.

The other suspect is a 25-year-old man whose name has not been released.

Walker, 40, who starred in all but one of the Fast & Furious blockbuster films, was killed when the Porsche smashed into a light pole and tree then caught fire.

Walker's friend Roger Rodas, 38, who was driving, was also killed in the crash.

The families of both men sent investigators dental records to help identify the bodies, which were badly burned.

A memorial at the site of the crash in Santa Clarita, outside Los Angeles, has drawn fans and friends of the star.

Investigators have said speed was a factor in the accident, but are still trying to determine what caused Mr Rodas to career out of control and crash.

Walker had been on a pause from shooting the seventh instalment of the Fast & Furious franchise.

Production of the movie has been put on hold.
