Author E.L. James, actress Dakota Johnson and director Sam Taylor-Johnson.

The big screen adaptation of the racy book, which has sold more than 100 million
copies worldwide, is expected to be a big hit at the box office.
Screaming fans jostled to get a picture on the red carpet with stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, who play Christian Grey and his lover Anastasia Steele.

The film will have its UK premiere later today at the Odeon Leicester Square in central London.

Some £1m worth of tickets have been sold a week before the film opens.  Firefighters in London have said they fear a rise in call-outs over people getting trapped in compromising situations because of the effect of the film.

But reviewers have failed to get hot under the collar with many giving a mixed response. Speaking at the Berlin film festival, Dornan said he would remain friends with his co-star Johnson and director Sam Taylor-Johnson.

And the 32-year-old Northern Irish actor said despite the hype and attention surrounding the film, the "main core" of his life would stay the same.
He said: "I always say this, at the core, nothing's going to change in my life. I'm married, I have a baby."
Johnson said: "My expectations? I don't have any I just hope that people like the movie."
Fifty Shades of Grey mania has hit fever pitch at the film's world premiere in Berlin, amid a mixed reception from critics.
