According to Borno local,
Babagana Kyari, “at least 18 people, including three women, died… and several
others were injured”.
Kyari narrated how it all
happened.
“The
two men came as if they were travellers and one of them detonated his
explosives in the midst of travellers and petty traders. But the second man was
shot and killed by soldiers before he could pull the trigger.”
Almost at the same time,
twin blasts were heard in Plateau capital, Jos, when residents were returning
home around 6pm.
Twin blasts occurred almost
simultaneously in two motor parks along Bauchi road.
One Umar Awwal disclosed
that the assaulters took advantage of the heavy downpour adding that the attack
“claimed many lives and left others seriously injured”.
Meanwhile Punch reports
that 27 people were killed in Borno and Plateau explosions, with 15 having lost
their lives in Biu and 12 in Jos.
It should be recalled that
only last week Biu was hit by multiple explosions. At least 37 were reported
dead after the unknown had thrown several bombs into the crowd.
