According to
Source, three people were on Tuesday morning killed in a fire outbreak that
occurred at the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
According to
PM News, the inferno started at about 6.47am after a petroleum-laden tanker
belonging to Forte Oil had a brake failure while trying to climb the steep hill
on Beach Road opposite the Abbatoir and exploded.
The driver of
the tanker, a motorcycle rider and a yet-to-be identified commuter were burnt
beyond recognition as the fire gutted the Abbatoir and wreaked havoc in the
area.
As at press
time, it was observed that cows and goats were not spared by the raging fire
that also spread to a building inside the slaughter house that serves the
people of Ebute and its environs.
The entire
environ was cordoned off by touts while officials of the Nigerian Fire Service
were seen trying to put out the raging fire.
The outbreak
of fire in public places and offices have become very rampant in Nigeria,
recently fire gutted the electoral institute of the Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja on Saturday night, March 14, 2015, and
also the International Gospel Church in Warri, which belongs to the President
of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor.
