Prince Harry was spotted in
Australia apparently to begin a four weeks training with the Australian Army.
The Prince is also set to
spend some time learning how wounded servicemen and women are supported in
Australia, which has become an increased focus for his charity work back home.
He is expected to take part
in exercises with the country's special forces and Aboriginal soldiers as part
of a long-running exchange programme between UK and Australian forces.
Harry was dressed in army
fatigues when he arrived at Sydney International Airport on a Qantas flight
from London.
He started his four-week
placement with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) by laying a wreath at the
country's Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Canberra and by placing a poppy at the
Roll of Honour.
The Prince then toured the
First World War and Afghanistan Galleries at the Australian War Memorial met
members of the public.
Harry then reported for
duty to the Chief of the Defence Force and met senior army personnel before
commencing his military exchange.
The Queen thanked the
Australian military for welcoming Harry and said he will "benefit
greatly" from the attachment with the "diggers", as soldiers
Down Under are known.
