Oyedepo Cries Out To Federal Government To Focus On Education

According to Oyedepo, any nation that fails to develop its education sector was doomed. Bishop Oyedepo spoke at a briefing at Omu-Aran to mark the second convocation of Landmark University.
Founder of Living Faith Church and Chancellor of Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Kwara State, Bishop David Oyedepo, yesterday, decried Federal Government’s “heavy investment on politics instead of education.”

He said: “It is disheartening that Federal Government is always deploying more funds to politics rather than investing on education sector. Any nation that fails to invest in education as a matter of priority is doom. “The seeming increase in the tuition fees of private universities is a greater intervention that had bailed out the nation from the dwindling education sector. “Available facilities in the private universities take huge funding that is still heavily subsidised.

These facilities are not available in public-owned universities.” On the second convocation of the university, he urged the graduands to be good ambassadors of the university. He said 59 students were graduating with first class; 220 with second class upper; 276 with second class lower and 12 in third class. He added that all 23 academic programmes of the university had been accredited by National Uni-versities Commission, NUC.
