Bus Somersaulted After Collision 17 Confirm Dead

Family of the deceased were left in agony as seventeen dead bodies were deposited in the state specialist hospital Ondo mortuary.

According to witnesses, the deceased met their ill fate on Tuesday, September 15 2015, in an accident that involved their commuter bus and a truck. The accident reportedly occurred at Igushin Town, along Ondo-Ore Expressway in Ondo West Local Government area of Ondo state.

Sources say that the 18-seater bus somersaulted several times after the collision, before it finally burst into flames.

Akin Adedipe, the head of operation of the state sector command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed the incident.

According to Premium Times, Adedipe said a white Mazda 18-passenger bus with registration number BWR 116 XC and a white DAF Truck with registration number AAA757XN were involved in the crash.

He said among the dead were 11 males, six females and one male child whose identity were yet to be ascertained.

He also noted that there was a lone survivor who was mortally injured.
