Shekarau said he will continue working for the success of the party for the rest of his life.
He blasted the APC-led
federal government’s anti-corruption stance, wondering how it could fight
corruption if one looks at the close allies of the president who were actively
instrumental to his success, as they were all ex PDP members.
Shekarau further explained
that, histories relating to electoral rigging, manipulations, intimidation in
states like Rivers, Kano, Plateau, Kaduna, Edo and some others in the
South-west were successfully executed by those now calling themselves
progressives and likened it to a situation where the kettle is calling pot
black.
The two-term governor of
Kano also revealed that PDP has excellent policies and programs designed to
uplift the country but was betrayed by those he called ingrate politicians,
expressing hope that the party will bounce back and reclaim its mandate come
2019.
He commended the
Reconciliation Committee set up by the party to review its dismal performance
in the last general elections for doing an excellent assignment hoping that the
National Executive Council of the PDP will implement the far reaching decision
recommended by the committee for the overall success of the party.
Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, re-affirmed
his loyalty to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, describing him as the best
person suited to lead the country to its promised destination.
