Alex Oxlade Chamberlain
could well be on his way to Chelsea, with the player making it clear he sees
his future away from the Emirates Stadium.
Rumours of an impending
exit for the player have been doing the rounds for some time, and now it seems
that could really be the case, with the player set to make the switch across
London according to the Express.
Given the 24-year-old is
out of contract come the end of the season, should he refuse to pen a new deal
and decide he wants to leave, there is little Arsenal can do to stop him, and
cashing in on him now is the most sensible option for Wenger and the board.
No new deal
The Ox has made it clear he
will reject any offers from Arsenal – and that has obviously alerted the
majority of the Premier League.
Liverpool and Chelsea have
been strongly linked to him, and with the Blues desperate for reinforcements in
their squad, it seems to be the case that a move to Chelsea could suit both
parties.
Arsenal may be happy to
sell the player to their rivals, though quite what the fans will think is of
course a different story.
Alexis unresolved
Another player who does not
seem interested in signing a new deal with the club is of course Alexis
Sanchez, who has been heavily linked with Bayern Munich and even Manchester
City – yet Arsenal appear to be holding firm.
That being said, keeping an
unhappy player is never ideal and there could well be a shock on the cards as
the deadline approaches.
Even if Alexis stays, given
he has made it very clear how he feels about playing for a club who aren’t
challenging for top honours, it seems certain to be the case that he leaves
come this time next year regardless, and may even sign a pre-contractual
agreement in January with his chosen club.
