Yakubu Gowon Slumps At Military Funeral In Ovwor-Olomu, Delta State

Former head of state, Yakubu Gowon slumps during the funeral of late Major General David Ejoor in Ovwor-Olomu community, Ughelli South LGA of Delta State, Friday, May 3rd.
Gowon, 84, is said to have slumped mid-way during the military funeral oration, Gowon  slumps at the grave side of late Maj Gen David Akpodiete Ejoor.

The former Nigerian head of states was promptly rushed by some senior military officers into the special tenth for emergency resuscitation. They were joined by Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa and Chief James Onanefe Ibori, former Governor of the Delta State.

He is said to be in stable condition at the moment.
General Yakubu “Jack” Dan-Yumma Gowon was the former head of state of Nigeria, he reigned from 1966 to 1975. He took power after one military coup d’état and was overthrown in another. During his rule, the Nigerian government prevented Biafran secession during the 1967–70 Nigerian Civil War.
The former head of state had marked his 50th wedding anniversary with his wife, Victoria Gowon. The dinner took place at Silk Road Resturant Abuja. They were hosted by Alex Addingi the country Director of Silk Road Restaurant, fmr Super Eagles captain Amokachi was also at the event, which was private and had just few family members in attendance.
