Boko Haram Attacks Borno Governor’s Convoy

The immediate past governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, was also attacked in similar fashion by Boko Haram insurgents. Then incident occurred 7 months ago while he was headed for Gamboru Ngala in Borno.
The convoy of Borno State governor, Babagana Zulum has suffered an attack after suspected Boko Haram members opened fire on it on Thursday, the 5th of September.

The convoy was attacked around 9pm in Konduga while the governor was returning from Bama Local Government Area.

The governor visited Zulum had visited Bayo, Kwaya Kusar, Askira Uba and Gwoza as part of a tour of the 27 LGAs in Borno.

A source told TheCable, “Luckily the governor, his commissioners and other vehicle in the convoy escaped unhurt but the last vehicle which is an army gun truck was pelted with bullets.

“Immediately after they fired at us, our men in collaboration with the armed personnel from the Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad, retaliated and thwarted the ambush.”
