Justice
Mohammed Liman of the Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the release of
Senator Orji Uzor Kalu from prison.
This comes
weeks after a conviction against Kalu secured by the Economic and Financial
Crimes Commission, EFCC, was overruled by the Supreme Court.
A warrant for
his release and that of a former Director Finance and Account at the Abia
Government House, Ude Udeogu, was issued.
According to
The Cable, the Supreme Court issued the warrant for the release of Udeogu who
was held at Kuje prison, in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
