The horrid
incident happened on Wednesday, May 20, , 2020, during a deliverance session
inside the church hall. It’s reported that the pastor had drugged the victim
before defiling her.
Policemen
attached to Warri Area Command have apprehended the Founder and General
Overseer of Victory Revival Fasting and Prayer Ministry, Bishop Elijah
Orhonigbe, for allegedly raping a 19-year-old girl inside his church hall in
Warri, Delta State.
According to
the State Police Spoke-person , ACP Mohammed Muktar Garba, the cleric was
arrested following a complaint by the mother of the victim at his office.
He noted that
the mother of the victim, is a member of the church where her daughter was
allegedly raped by the said bishop. He added that all medical examinations
conducted on the victim proved that she was raped.
The culprit
who went into hiding , was nabbed on June 5, 2020, and has been in police
detention.
He was
charged to court today.
