The new Diet Coke hunk was recently
unveiled as 31-year-old Andrew Cooper from Manchester, who
showed off his model credentials in the first Diet Coke break ad in seven
years. But it looks like Andrew has some competition...
Fashion maestro Marc Jacobs has landed a new gig as the creative director of Diet Coke for 2013. And to mark the announcement of the designer's new appointment, the brand has released a tongue-in-cheek film entitled 'Marc Jacobs' Photo Booth Break', which is his own take on the famous Diet Coke hun
The story adopts the
same tone and style
as its predecessors, showing a group of girls swooning as they see Marc taking
his shirt off in a photo booth. Showing off his collection of colourful and
quirky tattoos, he poses in nothing but his signature kilt while sipping on a
can of Diet Coke.
"I don't have much shame or anything in terms of taking off my clothes," he jokingly admitted after starring in the video.
Taking the reins from French designer Jean Paul Gaultier, who was bestowed the honour in 2012 after Karl Lagerfeld's 2011 stint, Marc said in a statement that he feels "very privileged" to have been asked to take the helm of the brand's campaign because he "admired the work of the other designers who have participated in this project in the past."
"I feel very privileged to be the new creative director of Diet Coke and put my stamp on the 30th Anniversary," he said, speaking about the campaign which is entitled 'Sparkling Together for 20 Years', adding: "Diet Coke is an icon… and I love an icon."

must-have bottles and cans that aim to unite the stylish
and light-hearted personalities of both icons.
Inspired by the 80s, 90s and 00s, the chic designs will capture the rise of female empowerment through the three decades with a whimsical twist true to Marc's signature style.
