"I
didn't have a lot of time to lose the weight because I scheduled a show three
months after I gave birth, which I would never do again!" she told Shape
magazine.
In a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the interview, Beyonce describes herself as someone who is "not naturally very thin," and that she "has to work to keep her body in shape."
The Crazy in Love singer also told the magazine that she lost 80 percent of her post-baby weight loss just by cutting back on food.
"I ate a very low-calorie diet. I stayed away from red meat and ate a lot of fish, replaced pasta and rice with quinoa," Beyonce said.
Although the star watches what she eats and is very active, she admits that she doesn't count calories.

"I
always have breakfast, say, scrambled egg whites, a vegetable smoothie, or
whole-grain cereal with low-fat milk. For lunch and dinner, I eat a lot of fish
and vegetables. And throughout the day, I try to stay hydrated," she said.
"I always treat myself to one meal on Sundays when I can have whatever I want," she said. "Usually it's pizza, which is my favorite indulgence," she added.
Beyonce will embark on her 59-date Mrs Carter Show World Tour on the 15 April, and has enlisted the help of designer Julien Macdonald to create the stage costumes.
The British fashion designer has dressed the singer before, once in a yellow knitted fringe outfit for her 2011 Good Morning America performance and again for this past New Year's Eve performance in Las Vegas with a sequin and tasseled gold playsuit.
