But the distraught woman was saved by an inflatable cushion
set up below, breaking her fall from the third-story ledge.
The very public cry for help came after the 19-year-old
learned her boyfriend was actually married — and even had a 10-year-old child
from that relationship. She climbed onto a ledge of the building in the capital
of eastern China ’s Zhejiang Province and out onto a metal pole,
threatening to jump.
As firefighters worked to talk her off the ledge, they also
inflated an air cushion to break her fall. When she leapt, she landed on the
safety cushion and was unhurt.
OK, I like a good story and write-ups as much as the next guy, but enough with the sensationalism that you would see on the local TV news trying to grab ratings, lol!
ReplyDelete, a Chinese teen plunged out of a Hangzhou apartment building in a desperate suicide attempt"
She obviously didn't 'plunge' out in a desperate attempt. She calmly walked out and stood there, either waiting for attention, good or bad, and emotionally contemplated whether she could choke up the nerve to end her life.
"When she leapt, she landed on the safety cushion and was unhurt."
She obviously didn't leap rather, its clear she dropped and is aiming for the airbag, having decided that after listening to the rescue crew tell her that falling from the third floor will probably twist her body and shove broken bones through her skin causing agonizing pain, that her best bet would be to aim for the bag instead of trying to climb back in only to fall and miss! Hehe ;)
