Ibinabo gets bus gift for AGN, launches film initiative

Less than a year after she assumed office as the first female president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria,AGN, Ibinabo Fiberesima has proved that she is a woman with a mission to rewrite the story of the guild.
During the week, the mixed-race actress shocked members of the guild when she presented the key to an 18-setter brand new Toyota Hi-ace bus with registration number, LSD-227 BH to the chairman of the guild’s Board of Trustee,Mr Ifeanyi Dike, at its Secretariat at Ajao road, Surulere. The bus was said to have been donated to the guild by a top government official and a lover of the industry.
While receiving the key to the white-coloured bus, BoT chairman commended Ibinabo's administration for its vision, adding that the bus remains a sign of good things to come the way of the guild in no distant time. However, speaking at the informal gathering, Ibinabo used the opportunity to give account of her stewardship. In spite of the challenges, Ibinabo said, "We have been able to measure up with some achievements since we assumed office in November last year." According to her, her administration has commenced Health Management Scheme as well as Insurance screening for actors and actress which she promised them upon her assumption of office last year. "After exhaustive research, Health International Limited,HMO, providers met with our desired requirements in providing qualitative healthcare services for our members. We are proud to announce to you that AGN has commenced Health Management Scheme as well as Insurance Pension Schemes," she disclosed. She also launched the AGN film initiative, calling on the six geo-political zones to submit scripts that would be funded by the National executive of the guild. The film, she explained will feature members from the state chapters within the respective zone.
