If you expose me, I'll expose you, Minister tells Amaechi

According to the Sun, Minister of State for Education, Mr. Nyesom Wike, yesterday vowed to expose the Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, if he makes good his threat, to expose those fighting him. Wike said: "If you speak, I will speak." He was alluding to a statement credited to the governor, that he would expose those fighting him. The governor was quoted as saying, if he opened up; people would no longer respect those fighting him. The governor did not, however, mention any name. Governor Amaechi spoke while receiving a delegation of clerics, led by the Archbishop of the Niger Delta Province of the Anglican Communion, and Diocese of Niger Delta North, Archbishop Ignatius Kattey, at the Government House, Port Harcourt on Tuesday. Speaking during the inauguration of the four constituted committees at the PDP secretariat at No. 23 Aba Road, yesterday, Wike dismissed the threat by the governor to expose him or any other person , saying it was late to do so. "It is late for them to expose anyone," he said. The minster said as the former chief of staff to the governor, he was in a position to also spill the beans. "If he speaks, I will also speak," he repeated. He said no condition or position was permanent, adding that any leader, who used his position to oppress others could suffer the same fate when there was a new government. The minister, however, appealed to members of the committees, namely, Reconciliation Committee, Performance Evaluation Committee, Thanksgiving/Dedication Service Committee and Disciplinary Committee, to try and fish out those, who had left the party, with a view to bringing them back. "The more, the merrier, the PDP umbrella is big enough to contain everybody," he said. Earlier in his speech, the state chairman of the party, Felix Obuah, commended the judiciary for rising to the occasion and for being the last hope of common man. He said as a party, the interest of everyone was secured. According to him, the support he had received so far, showed that PDP members in the state, wanted a change that would reflect their collective interest, against selfish interest. He said: ''Our commitment to members , supporters and stakeholders, is to build an administration that is all inclusive, devoid of any form of discrimination," he said. He also pledged not to fail his supporters. Among those who spoke on the occasion were the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chibudom Nwuche, former Senator, Adawari Pepple, who is heading the Reconciliation Committee.
