Superstars turned out for the 2013 BET Awards in Los Angeles last night, even Emeli Sandé won a little trophy for best international act.
Drake led with the most nominations but pulled a no-show, with some reports suggesting his absence was to avoid confrontation with rival Chris Brown.
Newest talent Kendrick Lamar was the night’s big winner, scooping the new artist and male hip hop artist awards. He reflected on his triumph: "This is living proof that you can do anything you put your mind to."
