Sentence End, Refused to Leave; Re-Arrested

Not everyone wants to leave prison.
A man, who has just ended his prison sentence in northern North Carolina, was arrested again for refusing to leave jail after authorities would not give him a ride to a motel.

Police said that the 37-year-old Rodney Dwayne Valentine was charged with trespassing.

Valentine was released from Rockingham County jail Saturday morning after being behind bars since May 22. The sheriff's office said he asked them to take him to a local motel and they refused.

Deputies charged him with second-degree trespass when he refused to leave jail on Saturday afternoon.

He is being held on $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court next week.
