Halima Abubakar to host NBMA 2013

Tinubu, Amaechi for special recognition

The organizers of the Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards (NBMA) have announced that the fourth edition of the awards, which hold on Sunday, December 8, at Necca House, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, would be hosted by actress, Halima Abubakar. She would be joined by the duo of Shola Thompson and Labi Olayori.The organizers also disclosed that former Lagos State governor, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Cross Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, would also be honoured.

"The Nigerian Broadcasters Awards 2013 promises to be an evening to remember. You can't afford to miss it! It may also interest you to know that former Lagos state governor and political juggernaut, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Rotimi Amaechi of River State have both been penciled down for Special Recognition," Kazeem Popoola, organizer of the event disclosed.

Popoola added that Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola of Lagos State is the Special Guest of Honour.

The event would also witness the induction of Deji Haastrup and Kunle Job into the NBMA's Hall of Fame, while Tony Ibegbuna will also be honoured with a Life Time Achievement Award.

Popoola stated that unlike previous editions, prizes like LCD TV's, mobile TV gadgets and decoders would be attached to certain categories on NBMA courtesy, StarTimes. He also disclosed that voting for the 2013 edition was already in progress.
