Boothe's nails had a combined length of 9.85 m (32 ft 3.8 in), when measured in Troy, Michigan, USA on 30 May 2009.
Unfortunately, Melvin passed away in December 2009.

His nail measurements were: Right Hand: Thumb: 39 3/8 = 100 cm, Index: 37 1/4 = 94.6 cm, Middle: 39 1/2 = 100.3 cm, Ring: 40 1/8 = 101.9 cm, Little finger: 34 5/8 = 88 cm. Left Hand: Thumb: 45 = 114.3 cm, Index: 38 1/8 = 96.8 cm, Middle: 38 = 96.5 cm, Ring: 38 1/4 = 97.2 cm, Little finger: 37 7/8 = 96.2 cm
