The former teen TV presenter is best known for fronting Channel 4's T4 and has not been a regular on UK screens in recent years, but is set to return to TV in a more serious role, according to The Sun.
She has been signed up to the BBC Two current affairs show, led by Jeremy Paxman, to undertake "special projects", although no further details have been released on what exactly she will be working on.
June, 36, reassured Newsnight viewers: "I'm not replacing Jeremy Paxman, before the rumours start."
Her most recent role has been as a presenter on US show Conspiracy Theory With Jesse Ventura, which investigated government goings on.
