Return N255 Million Bulletproof Cars To Its Supplier

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has been ordered by the House of Representatives to return the N255m bulletproof cars that were purchased for the former Minister of Aviation Ms Stella Oduah to its suppliers.
This was made known to newsmen on Wednesday, by the House Aviation Committee Chair Hon. Nkiruka Onyejeocha, during an oversight visit to the NCAA offices in Lagos.

She said if the NCAA fail to return the cars to its suppliers, the committee would be forced to call for a public hearing on the issue.

“Those bulletproof cars should be returned to the suppliers and the money recovered. We will call public hearing on the matter of they fail to return the cars” she said.

Onyejeocha further stated that the committee was not satisfied with the relationship between the bank that facilitated the purchase of the cars and the aviation agency hence insisted that the cars must be returned.

The committee also mandated aviation agencies to communicate to it in writing their response to all issues raised before next week to enable it take a position on their activities.

It would be recalled that the former Minister of Aviation, Ms Stella Oduah, was accused by the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation of approving N564m for the purchase of 54 cars beyond her power.

The committee alleged that Oduah, did not follow the budget approved for the Aviation ministry and its agencies by the National Assembly.
