Kanye said he wouldn't
continue until every single fan was on their feet, adding only those with
"a handicap pass and special parking" were exempt. He then sent his
bodyguard to check on two audience members who weren't standing. One
concertgoer is said to have had a prosthetic limb, while another was in a
wheelchair.
Now Kim has spoken out
about the incident. Alongside a video from Kanye's last show, she wrote:
"What an amazing Australian tour! It's frustrating that something so
awesome could be clouded by lies in the media.
Kanye West made headlines
with his comments in Sydney
"Kanye never asked anyone in a wheel chair to stand up & the
audience videos show that. He asked for everyone to stand up & dance UNLESS
they were in a wheel chair. #JustWantedEveryoneToHaveAFunNight #TheMediaTwistsThings."
Kanye himself spoke about
the incident during his final concert in Australia on Monday night.
Addressing the crowd in
Brisbane, the musician said: "If I didn't have this last concert maybe I
would have tweeted or something, maybe I would have put a statement with a
publicist, but I can talk directly to you, my fans because they got this thing
where they want the masses…to somehow read a headline that reads negative and
to think I'm a bad person or something."
Kanye West: 'I'm a married
Christian man with a family'
He later added, "Take
a step back for a second and look at this — I'm a married Christian man with a
family. At my concerts I make sure everybody has good of a time as possible, so
all this demonising me, it ain't going to work after a while.
"Pick a new target,
pick a new target 'cause I'm not one of these dumb a** artists that you're used
