John Mikel Obi Allegedly Assaults Female Journalist

Super Eagles midfielder, John Mikel Obi, reportedly assaulted a female journalist in Abuja yesterday, October 14.
The reporter who works with a local radio station, KISS FM, had approached Mikel who was leaving a training session with the team session at the National Stadium, Abuja and asked for an interview, Sahara Reporters reports.

An irritated Mikel was said to have lashed out at the reporter, shoving her.
Oluwashina Okeleji, a BBC journalist who tweeted about the incident said the reporter has forgiven the Chelsea player.

This is not the first time Mikel will be showing disregard for the Nigerian media. Early this week, a sports journalist, Colin Udoh had claimed that the footballer verbally assaulted him on a plane after the Nigeria’s Super Eagles lost to Sudan in Khartoum last Saturday.

Also last week Tuesday, the mid fielder was said to have shunned the open media chat, three days before the team flew to Khartoum, and Nigerian coach Keshi had to apologise for the act of defiance.

Nigeria will be playing Sudan today in Abuja to seek redemption in their qualifiers for Morocco 2015 to defend their title.
