The 42-year-old's announcement follows that of Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch, who placed a similar notice in last week's paper letting people know of his engagement to theatre director Sophie Hunter.
Halliwell's notice reads:
"The engagement is announced between Christian, son of Mr and Mrs GM
Horner and Geraldine, daughter of the late Mr LF Halliwell and Mrs A
Parkinson."
No wedding date is included
in the announcement for Halliwell and the Red Bull racing team boss.
Halliwell has been seen
supporting her partner at Formula One races around the world since the couple
got together in March.
Horner received an OBE last
year for his contribution to motor sports.
Other celebrities to have
revealed their engagements on the newspaper's Births, Deaths and Marriages page
include actor Eddie Redmayne to publicist Hannah Bagshawe, and comedian David
Mitchell to presenter Victoria Coren.
