Man Taken For Deliverance Commits Suicide

A young man killed himself by hanging in the premises of a church located in Owo area of Ondo State, where he was taken for deliverance.
Lanre Falodu, aged 24, was taken to the church by his brother Tunde who was seeking spiritual solution to his relative’s problem, Vanguard reports with reference to a police source.

However Lanre escaped from the church after having spent some time there and hanged himself on a tree within the church premises.

The body of the deceased was found by the local pastor, who immediately informed Owo police. Detectives arrived to the scene and took the body to the morgue.

The police source disclosed that the late man might have had some mental problems, as the family confessed to having taken him to the church for deliverance.

Ondo State Police Command imagemaker Wole Ogodo, said however that the case had not been reported at the state police command in Akure. He promised to contact his colleagues from Owo to verify the incident.

Another tragedy hit the Idanre area of the state, as an elderly woman, probably mentally sick, poured petrol on herself and set her-self ablaze.
