He said the course was meant to enhance the coach knowledge about football. Pinnick also dispelled rumours that the NFF is planning to sack Keshi and his assistants.
He told Vanguard that the
NFF board is fully committed on ensuring the Eagles are well prepared for the
2017 AFCON and 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
“In the short term package
to reposition our football we will send some of our coaches and ex
internationals to England for refresher courses in match reading,” said
Pinnick.
“They will also receive
orientation abroad on crisis management and other related courses that would
help us improve on the quality of information to be given the coaches before,
during and after games.”
He also confirmed the
Eagles will play most of their friendly games next year here in Nigeria
starting with the March 25th, 2015 friendly against Brazil at the newly built
Uyo township stadium in Akwa-Ibom state.
He opined that the decision
to play most of the proposed friendly games in Nigeria is to showcase the
county’s huge tourism potential and culture to the outside world in order to
get positive reviews.
Keshi was initially sacked
by the Pinnick-led board just about a month ago but was reinstated by President
Goodluck Jonathan.
