A man was beaten to death
by his friends after they applied scotch bonnet on his genital as they try to
imitate a character in an MTV show known as Jackass, Blackfriars.
Neill Buchel, whose chopped-up body parts were found dumped in a lake was murdered by friends after they played 'Jackass' style pranks on him, a court heard.
Neill Buchel, whose chopped-up body parts were found dumped in a lake was murdered by friends after they played 'Jackass' style pranks on him, a court heard.
The, 39 year old and drinking
buddies Scott Hunt, 41, Chas Quye, 36, were inspired by the US television series,
which features stars performing dangerous and painful stunts, it was said.
Some of the games,
including putting chili, known as scotch bonnet on genitals and setting pubic
hair on fire, would often result in injuries, a jury was told.
But the 'casual violence'
took a macabre turn and Mr Buchel's severed left thigh was discovered at an
East London nature reserve by a young fisherman in April last year.
The rest of his body was
recovered from White Hart Lakes in Dagenham more than a fortnight after he had
been reported missing by his worried family.
The victim, known as
'Southy' was brutally beaten at Quye's flat before being cut into ten pieces
and his dismembered body parts disposed of in a 'gruesome and callous' way, a
jury was told.
Hunt and Quye, along with a
third man Elvis Kwiatkowski, 36, are accused of the murder of the South
African.
The 39-year-old Neill
Buchel’s mates allegedly chanted Kings Of Leon’s song ‘s ex On Fire’ while
filming him with their mobile phones dressed up in female underwear before
applying a spicy Scotch Bonnet pepper on his pe nis in Ess ex, United Kingdom.
The deceased father of two
from South Africa popularly known as ‘Southy’, was pinned down and attacked
with several weapons, including a hammer and a blade.
Three among his friends,
Quye, 36, Scott Hunt, 41, and Elvis Kwiatkowski, 36, were subsequently arrested
and brought before a Crown Court for the murder of Buchel although they all
denied the claims.
The jury was told that the
slain man’s friends allegedly continued the fatal attack by kicking and
stamping on his chest before cutting up his body and dumping the 10 pieces in a
nearby lake. The victim’s leg was discovered in White Hart Lakes in Dagenham,
Ess ex, by a young angler who mistook it for a dead fish on 1 April last year,
a Daily Star report said.
It was also learnt that the
other parts of his body were found during a police investigation more than two
weeks after his family reported him missing.
His upper body was
recovered inside a duvet cover weighed down with stones, and other body parts
had been covered with a red curtain that had come loose.
Two other mates of the
deceased, Colin Bushaway, 61, and Alan Quinn, 28, were also arrested and
currently facing trial for helping to dump his body after the attack.
A post mortem check by
Pathologist Dr Benjamin Swift, showed that he sustained multiple fatal injuries
moments before he died
“We can’t exclude the
possibility some of the bruising has been caused by a weapon, which would
include a hammer, but the internal damage that occasioned his death would more
likely be caused by stamping or kicking actions because of the extent of the
injury,” said the Pathologist.
“He died minutes rather
than hours after those abdominal injuries had been inflicted.”
He further disclosed that
there were some slashes on the victim’s head, which were caused by a “sharp
edge or a cutting tool”.
The suspects are still
being tried by the Crown court.
What kind of fun is that? This id dead for life, too bad.
