Taylor Swift put all hard
feelings behind her as she embraced Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.
During Sunday night's ceremony in Los Angeles, Taylor lost out on three awards – Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for Shake It Off.
During Sunday night's ceremony in Los Angeles, Taylor lost out on three awards – Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for Shake It Off.
The 25-year-old singer
didn't let her defeat dampen her spirit, however, as she was spotted pulling
out her famous dance moves throughout the evening and looked to be having the
time of her life.
Taylor Swift showed she
felt no hard feelings towards Kanye West as she greeted him backstage at the
Grammy Awards on Sunday night. Their amicable meeting may have come as a shock
to fans who will remember all too well the moment when Kanye hijacked Taylor's
acceptance speech during the VMAs in 2009 and claimed that his friend Beyoncé
Knowles deserved the win more.
Six years later it seems
that the pair have put the past behind them as Taylor happily chatted to Kanye
behind the scenes.
The pop princess accepted
Kanye's friendly handshake and even went as far as to embrace the rapper and
cosy up to him for photographs.
As they sported wide grins
for the cameras and looked to be enjoying each other's company, Taylor and
Kanye were joined by the Yeezus star's wife Kim Kardashian, who was also given
a big hug from Taylor.
At the 2009 VMAs, Kanye
shocked the audience and viewers at home when he stormed the stage and grabbed
the microphone out of Taylor's hand during her acceptance speech. The Shake It
Off singer had just been presented with the Best Female Video gong for You
Belong with Me.
At the 2009 VMAs, Kanye
West interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech, claiming Beyoncé should have
won.
"Thank you so
much," she said. "I always dreamed about what it would be like to
maybe win one of these someday, but I never actually thought it would have
happened. I sing country music so thank you so much for giving me a chance to
win a VMA award."
Kanye then swooped in,
making his surprise interruption on stage, announcing: "Taylor, I'm really
happy for you, I'm gonna let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos
of all time. One of the best videos of all time." Beyoncé had been
nominated for the same award for her hit video Single Ladies (Put a Ring On
It).
Kanye seemed almost ready
to recreate his 2009 moment – this time with Beck. When the alternative rock
singer was handed the Album of the Year award for Morning Phase – beating
Beyoncé for her eponymous album – Kanye got up from his seat and approached the
stage.
The rapper quickly changed
his mind and returned back to his place, but later voiced his opinion
backstage, saying: "Beck needs to respect artistry. He should have given
his award to Beyoncé."
Taylor shows she's the bigger person. Quite mature
