The former governor of Benue
State Mr Gabriel Suswam was last week arrested for battery charges in London, according
to reports.
The ex-governor was reportedly held by Metropolitan Police Domestic Violence Officers for several hours and was only released after paying a £5000 bail bound.

Mr Gabriel Suswam arrest
came after Police received a distressed 999 call from his wife Yemisi the
former first lady of Benue state.
Yemisi told a dispatcher
over the phone that she feared for her life after being physically assaulted by
her husband over a heated argument relating to Suswam's mistress Shidoo.
Suswam reportedly hit
Yemisi many times and inflicted injuries on her...Suswam faces a prison term
not exceeding six months.
Shidoo the mistress has a
child for the governor and works at NAFDAC; British police are said to be pressing
the former first lady to file battery charges against her husband.
