The former 007 actor Pierce
Brosnan was stopped by officials in the United-States at Burlington
International Airport with a ten-inch hunting knife in his hand luggage.
Pierce Brosnan has been
stopped by airport security officials in Vermont for trying to board a US
flight carrying a knife.
Local police confirmed that
Pierce was allowed to continue on his journey once the issue was resolved.
The 62-year-old was
reportedly embarrassed and angry when the knife was confiscated by US
Transportation Security Administration officials. A ban on knives has been in
place following the September 11 attacks, and states that sharp objects must be
placed in checked luggage.
The incident took place on
Sunday. Lieutenant Shawn Burke, from the Burlington Police Department,
confirmed that airport officials had told him about Pierce's encounter with the
Transportation Security Administration team.
He said the Irish star
"was encountered by TSA at one of their checkpoint" and was later allowed
to continue his journey. He was travelling at the time with his 14-year-old son
Paris, his youngest child with wife Keely Shaye Smith.
