Imams n Alfas Warns Muslim Not To Accept Rams n Food From Fayose

Imams and Alfas in Ekiti has released a warning that Muslims in the state should not accept rams and other food items for the Sallah celebrations from the state government and Ayodele Fayose as gifts.
The Punch reports that Muslim religious leaders gave the order at a meeting held on Tuesday, September 15, at Ansar-u-Deen Society Central Mosque Odo-Otu, Ado Ekiti.

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and the National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations in Ekiti state had earlier condemned Governor Fayose for neglecting Muslims in political appointments.

The Ekiti state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) also criticized the governor in a statement issued by Taiwo Olatunbosun, the party’s publicity secretary. According to the APC, Fayose’s treatment of Muslims in terms of appointments in the state is “the worst since the state was created.”

The party noted that Muslims in Ekiti state were not given up to 1% of the appointments made by the administration of Fayose.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, The League of Imams and Alfas concluded:

“Based on the above, the League, Ekiti State Council, hereby resolved that no Muslim in the state should collect rams and other food items, if presented to them in any form by the government.”

“Any Muslim that collects such rams or food items under any guise has taken Haram (Unlawful) and the punishment of the Almighty Allah awaits the person. (Quran 71 verse 28).”

“This order stands until the government accedes to our demands as earlier published.”

Meanwhile, Fayose has continued his verbal attacks on Buhari, accusing him of operating as a president of northern Nigeria only.

The governor criticized the president’s appointments so far, saying it was wrong of him to have made 31 major appointments and only seven were from the South, while 24 were from the north.
