A team which comprises of
three individual has been arrested for deceptively collecting money for
applications form for non-existence oil jobs, they made millions from this
devious acts.
The three persons were,
Messers Ehikhamenor Lewis, Stephen Eefgom and Abdul Qadri Ibrahim.
A statement signed in Benin
on Tuesday, by zonal Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) zone 5,
headquarters, Benin, Eneka Iheanacho, said the arrest was based on a credible
information received by the police on the activities of the suspects.
He disclosed that the
suspects, in collaborations with others now at large, placed an employment
advertorial on the social media sometime in August, 2014, which attracted about
1,122 applicants from different states of the federation.
The suspects, who he said,
confessed to the crime during interrogation by the police, stated that they
operate with Jocom Lean Concept Limited to defraud their victims.
He added that preliminary
investigations by the police revealed that victims paid between N10,000 to
N150,000 into a bank account owned by one Mr Joseph James, owner of Jocom Lean
Concept, with office located at Comfort plaza, Block 2, Suite 29, New Etete
Road, Benin City, for application forms among others.
Items recovered from the
suspects included computer laptops, detailed list of about 1,122 victims, Jocom
Lean Concept letter head, 21 bank deposit slips and Jocom Lean Cocept training
manuals and handouts.
The PPRO added that
investigations was still ongoing, even as he said that efforts have been
intensified to arrest the fleeing members of the gang ,including the leader of
the gang, Mr. Joseph James.
He appealed to the public
to be wary of people who claimed that they can offered them jobs and advised to
always cross-checked from such companies to avoid falling victims to job
racketeers.
