France police dragged a
half-naked man away after a shoot-out with suspected terrorists involved in
Friday's attacks in Paris.
The man was arrested after
being taken from the building at the centre of an armed siege in the Saint-Denis
suburb of northern Paris; he was then led away from the scene wearing no
trousers.
Two people however died in
the massive police shootout and one of the deceased has been confirmed to be a
woman who blew herself up wearing a suicide vest. The second suspect was shot
dead by a police sniper as a series of explosions and gunfire rang out.
The arrested man, Abdelhami
Abaaoud, 27, was believed to be living in Syria but has been identified by
police sources as the target of the overnight operation.
Swat teams launched a
pre-dawn raid and surrounded the apartment block at around 4.30am this morning
before his arrest.
Another of the suspects is
understood to be Salah Abdeslam, who is the subject of an international arrest
warrant after Friday's terror attacks.
It is
believed up to six terror suspects were hiding in an apartment building and
police have blocked off the area around Place Jean Jaures.
