News of a crack in the
relationship became public in April 2015 following a publication from Radar
Online that Nnamdi ‘feels threatened by Kerry’s success’ which has led to
issues in their marriage.
According to report actress
Kerry Washington has allegedly ended her marriage with former NFL star Nnamdi
Asomugha.
The couple got married on
June 24, 2013, in Idaho and has a 19-month-old daughter, Isabelle Amarachi
Asomugha.
Since her appearance in Scandal
in 2012, 38-year-old Kerry has gained global recognition but it appears she
isn’t having an easy time in her marriage.
A source close to the
family told Radar Online that: “Nnamdi’s bitter because he feels he should be
the breadwinner.”
As a result, the Hollywood
star and her husband went around seeking ‘professional help from couple’s
therapy’ in a bid to rescue the marriage.
But it appears marriage
counselling hasn’t saved the day for the pair following new reports alleging
that the couple has split, with Kerry set to file for divorce sometime in 2016.
The source, while speaking
to Radar, said: “things have gotten so bad [that] Kerry and Nnamdi are barely
talking”.
“They are like two
strangers living under the same roof.
“She’s already met with her
attorney to start preparing.”
“Nnamdi resents her,” the
source added, and there are speculations that this is connected with his exit
from the San Francisco 49ers football team in November 2013.
Following his exit from the
team, the 34-year-old former football player retired in December 2013.
