Man Arrested Passenger Pushed Into Train Platform

Kentish Town Underground station was closed while police examined the scene and Northern line trains were running normally by mid-afternoon but not stopping at the station due to an incident at the station.

A suspicious man has been arrested after a Tube passenger was allegedly pushed off a platform and into the path of a train.

The 29-year-old from Colindale, in north London, voluntarily attended a police station after officers put out an appeal.

Detective Superintendent Gary Richardson, of British Transport Police, said the man was held on suspicion of attempted murder.

The incident happened at around 11.45am on Wednesday at Kentish Town Underground Station.

London Ambulance Service confirmed it had been called to the station after "reports of a person hit by a train".

An ambulance crew and a team from London's air ambulance were called to treat the victim at the scene before taking him to a central London hospital.

Police say he has "life-changing injuries".
