Kentish Town Underground
station was closed while police examined the scene and Northern line trains
were running normally by mid-afternoon but not stopping at the station due to
an incident at the station.
A suspicious man has been
arrested after a Tube passenger was allegedly pushed off a platform and into
the path of a train.
The 29-year-old from
Colindale, in north London, voluntarily attended a police station after
officers put out an appeal.
Detective Superintendent
Gary Richardson, of British Transport Police, said the man was held on
suspicion of attempted murder.
The incident happened at
around 11.45am on Wednesday at Kentish Town Underground Station.
London Ambulance Service
confirmed it had been called to the station after "reports of a person hit
by a train".
An ambulance crew and a
team from London's air ambulance were called to treat the victim at the scene
before taking him to a central London hospital.
Police say he has
"life-changing injuries".
