Gyulchekhra Bobokulova, 38,
was arrested on Monday morning after she appeared at a Moscow metro station
carrying the head of the child she cared for.
While she has made no
attempt to deny the crime, investigators told a judge on Wednesday morning that
they believed Ms Bobokulova did not act on her own initiative.
The nanny who murdered a
four-year-old child in Moscow was encouraged to commit the crime by instigators
who are still at large, investigators have said.
“Suspected accomplices, specifically
the instigators, are currently at large,” an investigator told Moscow’s
Presnensky district court at a routine hearing.
Arrest warrants have been
issued for the suspects, the investigator said.
Ms Bobokulova, from
Uzbekistan, made no comment about the claims.
Asked by journalists in the
courtroom why she did it, she replied: “Allah ordered it.”
Ms Bobokulova is believed
to have beheaded four-year-old Nastya M and set fire to the family’s apartment
on Monday morning.
She was later found pacing
around the Oktyabrskoye Pole metro station in western Moscow shouting “Allahu
akbar” and claiming to have a bomb. Police found no explosives when they
arrested her.
She had cared for Nastya M
for 18 months, and the child’s parents have said they considered her a good
nanny.
While no motive has been
established, Russian media earlier quoted police sources saying Ms Bobokulova
had been sent mad when she realised her partner had a second family.
It is not clear whether her
partner is one of the suspected instigators referred to by investigators.
The court ordered Ms
Bobokulova to remain in custody until April 29. She raised no objection.
