Former spice girl member Mel
B, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton visited a London studio together, in
preparation for their 20th anniversary; despite Victoria Beckham and
Melanie C allegedly pulling out of reunion plans, to work their own project.
The band's former producer
Eliot Kennedy, who worked with them on second album Spice World, took to
Twitter to tease details of the new tracks, after joining the girls for the
session.
Eliot wrote: "Now that
was a day for the history books. Like 20 years had never happened. Proper
friendship! Hit song! Two long but ab-fab days with a stonking hit at the end
of it! We've still got it kids! #20 years."
Adding fuel to the fire,
Eliot then retweeted pictures of Mel, 40, Geri, 43, and 40-year-old Emma
arriving at the studio.
Earlier this week, former X
Factor judge Mel appeared on ITV's Lorraine and confirmed she and the girls
wanted their comeback to have some originality.
She said: "It's funny,
because back in the day people thought we had everything written for us but
we’ve always written all our own songs. That's why we won Ivor Novello awards
and all sorts. Everything always comes from us, and to do something for our
20-year anniversary is the ultimate dream."
