The 2-1 victory was
England’s first win at a major tournament since Euro 2012 and, for once,
manager Roy Hodgson was hailed for his “genius” tactical half time
substitutions.
England today came from
behind to secure their first win of Euro 2016, beating Wales 2-1 thanks to a
stoppage time Daniel Sturridge winner.
With well over 200
international caps between them, Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Rio Ferdinand
were filmed celebrating the late goal in the BBC studio.
Hauling Harry Kane off at
half time, Hodgson will have a selection headache ahead of the Slovakia game
following goals from Jamie Vardy and Daniel Sturridge.
The more reserved BBC
celebration wasn’t quite like Slaven Bilic’s incredible goal celebration for
Dimitri Payet’s goal last night.
John Hartson did not look
quite so pleased.
