Top Traditional Ruler Killed In Plateau State

The Chiefs were attacked in his village, Sha, while coming back from the farm along Bokkos-Barkin Ladi Road on Monday evening in company of his son, the police orderly and the driver.
Top traditional ruler in Plateau State, the Saf Ron Kulere and Chairman, Bokkos Traditional Council, Mr Lazarus Agai has been killed by yet to be identified gunmen.
They all died from the attack.

According to the Plateau State Police Commissioner, Olakunle Oladunjoye, the command got information that the vehicle of the traditional ruler, which was conveying his family on their way back to the village, was attacked on the highway by unknown gunmen with sporadic gunshots which hit the driver and killed him as the vehicle lost control leading to the death of the son, the orderly and the driver.

The police chief told Channels Television on phone that four people, including the chief died in the attack, while four others are receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital from injuries sustained in the attack.

Meanwhile, security reinforcement has been ordered by the police commissioner to Bokkos to anticipate any breakdown of law and order as the youths of the community are planning for a protest on the murder of the chief and others.


A security meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday (July 19), while investigations into the killing of the traditional ruler continues.
