Chairman of the All
Progressives Congress, APC, in Edo State, chairman, Anslem Ojezua, has urged
security agents to mop up the militants allegedly imported to the state by the
People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
He said this had become
necessary to forestall violence on the day and after the rescheduled
governorship election.
The APC chairman alleged
that the militants were camped in hotels and private residence of PDP leaders.
“We are appealing to
security agencies to do their job for the interest of the people of the state,”
Ojezua told Vanguard.
“We are worried because we
have heard of the kind of violence these people want to perpetrate on the day
of the election.
“If you observe in the
hotels in the state, you will notice that strange faces flooded the hotels most
of them heavily armed.
“Once the security agencies
are seen sanitizing the environment, the people will know and once they know
the people will have confidence in coming out for the election.
“We need to encourage our
people to come out for the election and the only way is to guarantee them of
their safety”, he added.
