Nyesom Wike, the governor
of Rivers state, has suspended four commissioners, the head of service and
special adviser on lands for three months.
The suspension was made
public by Simeon Nwakaudu, the special assistant to the governor on electronic
media, in an official statement released in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
Among the suspended
officials are Dr John Bazia, the commissioner of chieftaincy and community
affairs, Mrs Tonye Briggs-Oniyide, the commissioner of culture and tourism,
Fred Kpakol for finance and Mr Boma Iyaye for sports.
Others include Mr Rufus
Godwin, the head of service, and Mr Anugbun Onuoha, the special adviser on
lands. However, the reasons for unplannes suspension are kept secret.
