Late Lieutenant Colonel
Mohammed Abu-Ali’s family has been compensated financially for his death. Above video is a tribute to the late Abu-Ali’.
The Borno state government
has donated N10 million to the family of the late soldier, who died during a
fight against Boko Haram terrorists on November 4, 2016.
Kashim Shettima the
governor of Borno state made the donation when he visited the widow of the late
Lt. Col. in Kaduna.
An official statement was
also released by Malam Isa Gusau, the special adviser to Governor Shettima on
communication and strategy.
The statement buttressed
the fact that the Borno state governor presented a N10 million cheque to
Samira, the widow of the fallen soldier.
Governor Shettima also
described the late officer as a hero who sacrificed his life for peace to reign
not only in Borno but in the entire north east and Nigeria.
He also prayed for the rest
of his soul and for the family to bear the irreparable loss. The governor then
interacted with the mother of the late officer as well as his children,
assuring them that the sacrifice of their father would not be in vain.
Speaking on the late
soldier and his men, chief of army staff, General Buratai had this to say:
“They were brave, precise, professional and inspiring.
“They led the battle to
recapture the following towns: Monguno, Baga, new Marte, Bama, Gwoza, Banki
Junction, Gamboru-Ngala, Yale, Yanteke, Bita, Deruwa, Daira Kangaruwa and
Mallam Fatori.
“In these battles, they rescued
children and women, fathers and mothers, the young and the old and restored
peace and hope to Nigerian citizens. At last, on Nov. 4, they paid the supreme
sacrifice in the battle of Mallam Fatori.”
Tributes have continued to
pour in for the brave soldier. Here is a video made in his honour:
