available at the time of this report, but it was gathered that a professor,
Aliyu Mani, of the faculty of veterinary medicine was killed in the blast.
Explosion on Monday rocked
the University of Maiduguri.
Confirming the incident,
the spokesman of the police in Borno State, Victor Isuku said, “Yes, I can
confirm there was an explosion within the premises of University of Maiduguri
during the early morning prayers by Muslim faithfuls, details is still been
awaited.
However the Commissioner of
Police, CP Damian Chukwu, has mobilized his men to the scene for on on the spot
assessment of situation there.”
