Acting President Yemi
Osinbajo has said that he is not under pressure to resign, saying "the
truth of the matter is that there is no pressure from any source".
Osinbajo said Nigerians who
elected him and Buhari had not asked them to resign.
He also said that he cannot
disclose the health status of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Osinbajo stated that only
President Buhari would declare his health status at the appropriate time.
Osinbajo said this at the
Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja this evening while addressing State House
reporters after meeting behind closed-doors with the national chairman of the
All Progressives Congress, John Odigie-Oyegun.
Osinbajo was fielding a
question on why it has been difficult for Nigerians to know the president's
health status.
President Buhari has
remained in London after his ten-day vacation based on the advice by his
medical doctors to complete and receive a series of medical tests.
The acting president said
Buhari was hale and hearty, stressing that he just had a long conversation with
him few minutes ago.
He said he discussed with
Buhari, the 2017 budget and the ongoing protests in the country.
