Kashamu had approached the court to stop the IGP and the DSS from extraditing him to the United States of America (USA) to face trial for drug-related offences.
A Federal High Court in Abuja has decried the action of the DSS and the police as regards the case of the senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Senator Buruji Kashamu.

According to The Authority, the court expressed anger at the absence of DSS counsel at its session on Thursday, March 3 and then adjourned the case till Monday, March 21 for definite hearing.

Although the case was billed to be heard on Thursday, March 2 before Justice Nnamdi Dimgba, it was shifted to March 21 to enable the DSS counsel to appear in court on the new date.

The judge, who expressed his displeasure at the action of DSS in the matter, ordered that a letter should be written to the DSS to formally inform it of the March 21 date in addition to hearing notice to be served on the security agency.

Kashamu had dragged the IGP and the DSS and a serving House of Representatives member, Oladipupo Adebutu before the Federal High Court in Abuja seeking a perpetual order of injunction from the court to stop them from arresting and extraditing him.
Meanwhile, a former ambassador to Zambia and Malawi, Folake Marcus-Bello has advised Senator Buruji Kashamu to voluntarily visit the United States to defend himself.

A United States Court of Appeal had ruled that Kashamu can be extradited from Nigeria to face justice.
Folake says it is shameful that Kashamu is willing to result to violence to avoid getting extradited.
