President Muhammadu Buhari’s zeal to make sure that the Nigerian youths are taken care of made him contest multiple times, his special adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has disclosed.
Adesina said later Tuesday, May 30 in Abuja when he received a Golden Leadership Award from the National Youths Advocacy for Good Governance Initiative that Buhari contested up to four times to make the lives of the youths better.
While asking for their support from the youths, Adesina said: “One of the reasons President Buhari repeatedly contested for the position of the President of Nigeria was to see the country properly take care of young people.
“He strongly believes there should be a better country for the future generation.
“Tell your colleagues to team up with a government that envisages a better future for this country because Nigerians deserve a better future and that is what the president is aspiring to bequeath."
The national coordinator of the Youth Group, Comrade Alabi Abiodun, who spoke on behalf of the organisation, commended Adesina for his exemplary role and service to the nation adding that this was why he qualified for the award.
Mr Femi Adesina urged Nigerians to ignore media reports on coup plot, saying it should not be stretched beyond what the military authorities had said. Adesina stated this at a media chat with state house correspondents to mark two years of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration on Tuesday, May 23, in Abuja.
